The Verveの”All In My Mind”を紹介して、
次に“This Is Music”を紹介したのが丁度、１年前。
月日が経つのが本当に早くて驚く。

好きな音楽や大好きなバンドを、同じ音楽好きさん達に紹介したくて気合いを入れて書いている。
どれだけの人に届くかは分からない。
真剣に書いても上手く伝わってんのかなぁ？と不安になる時がある。
自信がなくなる時もある。
自分の気持ちを言葉にする、文章にする、表現する、ことが好き。
だが、文章に「気持ちを込めて書く」と言うのは、凄くパワーがいる。
一字一字、考えながら書く時もあれば、
何かが降りて来たかのように、何かに書かされてしまう時もある。
Lyraの場合はその何か舞い降りて来て書かされてしまう感覚に陥る時が多い。
綿密に寝ると言うより、何者かに突き動かされて書いているのだ。
衝動的に書いているのに近い。
衝動的に歌っていた昔の自分に近い。
歌は魂の叫び。真実の声。
真実を伝えたい。
だから。熱くなる。
ついつい、言わなきゃいい事まで書いてしまう。
でも、本音で書いているから嘘はない。
たまに、意味の無い言葉の羅列だけだったり、
気持ちが入ってない中身の無いものや、
人の文章を真似する嘘つきがノウノウとしているの見ると、吐き気がして来る。
頭をかち割ってやれ！
吐き出すんだ！
世の不条理に出会った時に、The Verveのこの曲を聴くと、
「元気出せよ！」
「先へ進め！」と葉っぱをかけられているような気分になるの。

The aptly named song is full of varied lyrical images. The song charted at #35 in the United Kingdom. “This Is Music” featured as the band’s opening song for the majority of their 2008 reunion tour. The cover was shot in Leeds, England by Michael Spencer Jones.

【This Is Music】はセカンド・アルバム『ノーザン・ソウル』からのファースト・シングル。この曲は、さまざまな叙情的なイメージでいっぱいだ。イギリスで35位にランクイン。
2008 年の再結成ツアーの大部分で、バンドのオープニング ソングとして取り上げらていた。表紙はイギリスのリーズでマイケル・スペンサー・ジョーンズによって撮影されたものだ。
前にプロモーションビデオ紹介したけどまた載せておきます。

このビデオが好き。この部屋から出て行く、と言ってバンドメンバーと一緒に歩いて行くでしょう。
歌詞と合わさるとグッと来る。
Vevo絡みだと日本ではこのプロモーションビデオ、見れなくなってるみたい、、、。何故だろうね？
最近、特にそう。マイナーな曲だとこれが多い。
前に紹介したWAXの”California”のPVもそう。Lyraは、燃え盛る男の人が街中を走っているのを見せようとしたらこの国では「表示できません」ってなるの。
版権のせい？
レコード会社絡みだろうね。

リチャードのネチッこい歌い方が好き。癖になるスルメイカだわ。
ギターの音もGroovy !
ベースが唸っているし、Lyraの好きなスタイルの音が煮え出して美味いスープになった感じよ。
そのスープは魔女のスープかもしんないけどね。
彼らの音には魔界の世界がチラッ、チラッと見える。
でも、嘘じゃない真実が書かれている。

妖しい、音圧激しい音の中には、ヴァーヴ の真実の言葉が煮えたぎっているんだ。
Lyraも同じ！私の魂の底にある音楽や好きなものに対する熱い思いが煮えたぎっているの。
それを嘘偽りなく伝えて生きたい。
真実の声として発して生きたい。
上手く行くかはわからないけど。
嫌な事ばかりの世の中だ。
