“It Ain’t Me” is a song by Norwegian DJ Kygo and American singer Selena Gomez. It was released by Interscope Records, Sony and Ultra on 16 February 2017 as the lead single from Kygo’s first EP, Stargazing. The song was written by Kygo, Andrew Watt, Brian Lee, Ali Tamposi and Gomez. It was produced by Kygo, Watt, Ben Rice and Louis Bell. A dance-pop, electropop and tropical house song, “It Ain’t Me” comprises an acoustic guitar line, and a build-drop arrangement in its chorus featuring pulsing piano notes, bass, synthesizers, finger-snap claps and pan flute melodies. Gomez sings the track in a husky tone, while in the chorus her vocals are reduced to recurring syllables. The lyrics are nostalgic and narrate a past relationship ruined by alcohol abuse.

制作者サイドが何故、歌詞とは真逆なラブストーリーにしたのか？
愛する恋人同士がオートバイ事故で悲惨な目に遭い、彼女の献身的な看病の毎日が続き、ラストの方で彼女が聞いていた曲で彼氏が意識を取り戻し、救われたようなストーリーにしたか分からない。
歌詞とは真逆だ。
もし、歌詞に沿って作られたのならば、あの目を覚ました彼は、独りぼっちになる。
だって、この【It Ain’t Me】の歌詞は、サヨウナラの歌だからだ。
歌詞を知らなくても良い。

DJ、プロデューサーのKygo カイゴは、シンガポール生まれ。
歯医者の父、海外との仕事をする母の元に生まれ、日本やエジプトなど海外諸国を転々した環境で育つ。
6歳の時にピアノを習い始め、16歳で本格的に音楽制作を始める。
そしてスコットランドのヘリオット・ワット大学に進学。

【It Ain’t Me】は、悪癖を止め、一緒に居た男性にも別れを告げる歌だ。
Lyraが和訳した文章を読めば、主人公の女性には、まだ愛が少しだけ残っていて置いていく男性が心配なのだが、悪い生活を断ち切るためには、一緒にいてはだめだとサヨウナラを言っているのだ。
サビ前の、夜一緒に歩いたのも、朝日が眩しくて彼氏を起こさないようにしてあげたのも、泥酔した彼氏を車で送って行ったのも全部、この女の子なんだろう。

“It Ain’t Me” is a breakup song with a theme of nostalgia. The lyrics are about standing up for yourself in the face of a toxic relationship. Gomez narrates the regret of a previous relationship ruined by her former lover’s habits of drinking and partying too often. The lyrics specifically address alcohol abuse, a type of alcoholism. Tamposi explained that “It Ain’t Me” is about a woman finding the strength to walk away from a toxic relationship despite the pressure she receives from society to stand by her man. Although the lyrics are sombre, the song has a distinctly uplifting and empowering sound.

Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll (born 11 September 1991), better known by his stage name Kygo(Norwegian: [ˈkyːɡuː]), is a Norwegian DJ, songwriter and record producer.
Kygo was born 11 September 1991 as a non-native foreign in Singapore, the son of Kjersti Gjerde, a dentist, and Lars Gørvell-Dahll, an abroad worker in the maritime industry. He has an older stepbrother Mads, two older sisters Johanne and Jenny, and a younger half-brother Sondre. Through his childhood, he lived and traveled with his family in Brazil, Japan, Kenya and Egypt.
Kygo started getting piano lessons at the age of six. He stopped when he was 15 or 16 and started producing music with Logic Studio and a MIDI keyboard while watching several tutorials on YouTube. When he decided to pursue music full-time he was halfway through a degree in business and finance at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has cited Swedish DJ Avicii as his main inspiration.
On 15 May 2013, Kygo released his first single called “Epsilon” on Romanian record label Ensis Records. After that, on 1 December 2014, he released the single “Firestone”, featuring vocals from Conrad Sewell, which gained international recognition and debuted on several charts worldwide. After receiving over 80 million views on YouTube and SoundCloud, Kygo was contacted by Avicii and by Chris Martin of Coldplay to create a remix of the song “Midnight”. He has also supported Avicii at Findings Festival in Oslo, Norway, in 2014. On 19 September 2014, it was confirmed that Kygo was to replace Avicii at mainstage in TomorrowWorld, due to Avicii’s health concerns.
He was also featured in an interview for Billboard magazine, where he talked to writer Matt Medved about his remixes for Diplo and Coldplay, and talked about his upcoming tour in North America. In July 2014, Kygo entered into a partnership with EDM lifestyle brand Electric Family to produce a collaboration bracelet for which 100% of the proceeds are donated to Médecins Sans Frontières. In the same month, he signed a record label deal with Sony International and Ultra Music.
In February 2015, Kygo’s song “ID” was featured in the official trailer for Ultra Music Festival. The same track is also featured on FIFA 16, a popular association football video game by EA Sports . In August 2015, Kygo was a featured headliner at Lollapalooza in Chicago, one of the biggest music festivals in the world. He made his U.S. television debut on The Late Late Show with James Corden in October 2015.
On 9 February 2017, Kygo posted a snippet of his collaboration with American singer and actress Selena Gomez. They confirmed the single titled “It Ain’t Me”, via their social media accounts on 13 February. It was released on 16 February. The song is the lead single from Kygo’s first EP, Stargazing. On 28 April, Kygo released the second single from the EP, “First Time”, with British singer Ellie Goulding.
