クリスマスシーズンはHollyday Season なので、欧米では来年までの〜んびりと続くもの。

家族で普通に過ごし(料理はすごいけど！) 祝うのが、当たり前。

恋人同士や小さい子がいる家庭しか盛り上がらないのは、日本だけなのよ。

アメリカでも家族がいない人や、仕事で帰れない人は寂しい想いをするが、教会に行かない人は、友達と会うか、普通に過ごす。

それで良い。誰も気負わない。

いつもより少しだけあったかい感じ、又は、皆が幸せにのんびり過ごすのがクリスマス、というかいろんな宗教があるから今は、のんびりそれぞれ過ごすのがHollyday Seasonだ。

だから好きな人と過ごしてまったりするの。

Lover is the seventh studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on August 23, 2019, by Republic Records. As the executive producer, Swift worked with producers Jack Antonoff, Joel Little, Louis Bell, Frank Dukes, and Sounwave on the album. Described by Swift as “a love letter to love itself”, the album celebrates the ups and downs of love and incorporates brighter, more cheerful tones, departing from the dark sounds of its predecessor, Reputation (2017). The album’s cover art and music videos marked a change in Swift’s visual appearance, which now embodies a summer-oriented look, consisting mainly of pastel colors. Musically, it is a pop, pop rock, electropop and synth-pop record that contains influences of country, dream pop, bubblegum pop, funk, pop punk, R&B, and indie pop.

and “Lover” is a song written and recorded by  Taylor Swift for her seventh studio album of the same name (2019). Swift produced the song with Jack Antonoff, and it was released on August 16, 2019, by Republic Records as the third single from the album. “Lover” is a country, indie folk and pop ballad that features a booming snare, slow tempo and guitar-centric sound. Over a retro-styled musical motif, Swift sings lyrics about devotion to her partner.

50’s ぽいサウンドとそれにピッタリな映像が、可愛らしい。

この夏にリリースされてから長い間チャートにランクインしたまま。

あの時は(初めて聞いた時は)「今はあっつい夏だけど、【Lover】はクリスマスっぽい歌詞だし、ビデオもまんまクリスマスだから、冬迄売れるつもりかも〜」と予想したら、マジで12月迄持ってしまった。

クリスマスにピッタリなヒットソングになってしまった感がある、不思議な夏リリースの曲だ。

言われてみたらドラムの音が、DUBみたいだしね、夏向きだわ(笑)。

でも大好きな人と聴くには良い曲でしょう？

Lyraは、でかいパーティーなんかに行くよりも、好きな人とまったりしてしている方が好み。

互いに好きな曲を聴きながらとか、互いに楽器弾いているのを聴きながらソファーでくっちゃべっている方が良い、、、2人だけで。

この【Lover】は、ナッシュビルにいるときに、Taylorが一晩で書いてしまった曲だ。

寂しさと悲しみを感じさせるラブソングでもある。

見た目には、2人で暮らしている家で、仲良くやって行く事を楽しく話しているのだけど、大好きだからこそ相手を思ったり、焼き餅を焼いてしまったりする、不安な想いをも書いている切ない曲なのである。

ナッシュビルの自宅でTaylorは、ピアノを弾きながら、イギリスにいる彼氏のことを想って書いたのだろう。

Taylor ファンならばご存知だと思うが、Taylorが今付き合っている彼氏は、イギリス人のJoe Alwyn ジョー・アルヴィンという若手俳優だ。

今までのTaylorの彼氏は、前にブログで和訳したJohn Mayerとの1年半とか、Jake Gilenhallとの交際(1年ちょい) が長かったが(他は2〜3ヶ月で終わる)、今回は3年も付き合っている！！

変な事を言っちゃうかもしれないけど、Lyra が思うにTaylorはイギリス人男性に弱い気がする。

Eddie RedmainやTom Hidolston とも数か月付き合っていたし、別れた理由が、他の人みたいに(Harryとかね)喧嘩別れではなく、Taylorが遠距離に耐えられなくて別れてしまうパターンだったのよ。

そのせいか、今回はイギリスを拠点に俳優業をしている彼氏Joeと会う為に、プライベート・ジェットを飛ばして会いに行ったり、甲斐甲斐しく通う姿がいじらしい。

今までならば、諦めて直ぐ次の男性に乗り換えていたTaylor。

モテるし、出会いあるから次に行くよね、普通。Lyraも話したり出来ないならTaylorみたいに次に行くもん。

ただ、今回は波長があったというか、掛け替えのない人だとピンと来たんだと思う。

彼が住むイギリスにアパートメントを買った、とか。

「ついに結婚か？」と周りやファンが騒いでいるけど…このミュージックビデオみたいに、ダンスしたり、話したり、一緒に食べたり、なんて事ない、普通の幸せを噛みしめながら、仲良く暮らしてほしいなあと思う。

因みに歌詞にハッキリとは出て来てないけど、結婚を匂わす言葉がある。

Something blueね。結婚式に身に付けると幸せになると言われているの。アメリカでもやる人がいるけれど、元はイギリスの言い伝えです。

その中でSomething blueは青い色のものを身につけると良いと、いう言い伝えの最初の項目で、ビヨンセは、青いネイルで結婚式をしていたのよ。

そのWordを、ワザと2ヶ所に分けてセットで、ぶっ込んできたんだと思うよ。気づかない人は、気づかないけど、Lyraみたいな深読み好きは、ピンと来たんじゃないかな？「Taylorマジで結婚考えているんだね♪ 」と。

この【Lover】を聴いていると、クリスマスの夜には、しっとりしたラブソングも良いなあ、とつくづく感じたよ。

ロマンティックだし、このまま寝れそう。違った意味で。

そうそう、Duetしているのが今、超売れっ子で、前に和訳したShawn Mendes ショーン・メンデスなんだよ。

改めて「歌うまっ！」って声に出しちゃったわん。

ただのアイドルじゃ、ショービジネスの世界じゃ通用しないってこと。

分かっていたのだけど、Taylorとの掛け合いがね、表現力あるな〜と思ったの。

Describing her seventh studio album Lover as a “love letter to love”, Taylor Swift attempted to convey an emotional spectrum and vulnerability by looking at emotions including sadness and loneliness “through a romantic gaze

The title track of Lover was first unveiled in Swift’s September 2019 Vogue cover story, along with a pair of lyrics from its bridge. The interviewer described the song as a “romantic, haunting, waltzy, singer-songwritery nugget.” Swift announced the song’s release date during an acceptance speech at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards. Three days later, the song appeared on iTunes, revealing that it’s the third track on the album.

Swift wrote “Lover” late one night at her home in Nashville, Tennessee on the piano, and sent a voice memo of the song to Jack Antonoff (co producer). She flew to New York City the next day to work on the song with Antonoff and recording engineer Laura Sisk at Electric Lady Studios. Swift played the song on the piano for them; Swift and Antonoff produced the final version of the song during a six-hour recording session, using reverberation, a piano and a Mellotron. Swift described the writing process to Rolling Stone:

I was sitting up at the piano up in my loft, and I had the chorus. It just kind of happened immediately. It was one of those ones that I wrote very very, very quickly. And I was working out the cadence of the first verse and it just sort of fell together. But then I took some time to write the bridge because I wanted to really level up with that bridge. That one would for me would be less of a ranting bridge and more of a story-time fable type bridge. Sometimes I like to imagine a bridge as like a sort of fairy-tale lullaby fable expanding upon a song that has been not as detailed until that point. “Can I go where you go/ Can we always be this close forever and ever” is less detail then when you go to the bridge and you realize like, oh, it just got really personal in the bridge. It expands on it all

The song is a romantic track dedicated to Swift’s partner of three years, Joe Alwyn. It takes a wedding-like perspective on their relationship and shares information about their romance. A Twitter user who attended one of the secret sessions alleged that “‘Lover’ is Taylor’s favorite [original] song of all time,” having asked her directly during a Q&A.

On the day of its release, “Lover” reached number #1 on the US iTunes charts, making it her 35th song to do so. With this milestone, she extends her record as the female with the most #1 singles in iTunes’ history.

The music video for the song was released on August 22, 2019, immediately following Swift’s Lover’s Lounge on YouTube. It features Swift and her love interest in a house inside a snow globe, illustrating the ups and downs of a relationship in progress. During Swift’s livestream, she further revealed that the concept for the music video originated from a lyric in her 1989 song, “You Are In Love”:

Several publications interpreted the track’s subject as Swift’s partner Joe Alwyn and some compared the track’s lyrics with the poem “Something old”.  Paper‘s Katherine Gillespie “it’s a slow, sugary sweet guitar ballad presumably written for her longtime beau Joe Alwyn”. “feel like wedding vows, likely hinting at the fact that they are open to taking the next step in their relationship”.  All’s well that ends well to end up with you” might be a reference to Swift’s 2012 song “All Too Well
