知らない方のために(と言うか、日本ではEDM好きじゃない人は知らないのが普通)、、、

Selena とコラボしたこのDJは、ロシア生まれドイツ、カイザースラウテルン育ちのDJ、音楽プロデューサー、マルチ楽器奏者のZedd ゼッド( 1989年9月2日 –  ロシア語: Антон Заславский アントン・ザウラフスキー)。

Zeddは、エレクトロ・ハウスにジャンル分けされるが、特徴としては、プログレッシブ・ハウス、ダブステップ、クラシック音楽を取り入れている多様性があると思う。

Billboard Hot 100でNo.8にランクインした「クラリティ」や、Ariana Grande アリアナ・グランデ (→  Into You 和訳 Woman Of The Year & Ex… 元カレ問題 参照。)をフィーチャーした【Break Free】がヒットし全米で瞬く間に知名度を上げた。又「クラリティ」で、第56回グラミー賞の最優秀ダンスレコーディング賞を受賞している。

3人兄弟の真ん中で、両親がともに音楽家であり、4歳の時からピアノ、6歳で初めてレコーディング、12歳の時にドラムを始めたと言う。

2002年ドイツのロックバンド「Dioramic」で音楽活動した後、フランスのエレクトロニックミュージックデュオのジャスティスのアルバム『†』クロスを聞き感動したのをきっかけに、2009年からエレクトロニック・ミュージックの世界を志し本格的電子音楽の制作開始。

【I Want You To Kow】は、EDMらしいノリの良さが、歌詞の躍動感をより一層際立たせている。

個人的に言うと、バースのところが好き。

勿論、サビの歌詞が重要だしメロディも頭に残って直ぐに皆んなで歌えそうだから、キャッチーなダンスミュージックとして魅力を放っているだろう。

なぜ、Lyraがバースのところが好きなのは、Selenaの声にあっているから。

激しさからイキナリ Breakする感じがVocalに焦点を当てるかのよう。

LyraがSelenaの声で魅力的だなと思うのは中音域の声。

とっても色気があって美しい声になる。その良さをZeddは知っていて数回、彼女の声に焦点を当てるかのようにブレイクさせたり、Backを消すのだ。

美しい声や歌い手の良さを引き出すのが上手いDJやプロデューサーは売れる、そうLyraは思ってきたのでZeddも才能があるプロデューサーの1人だと言っていいだろう。

好みの問題だが、LyraはこのSelenaの声やメロディは好きだし、カラオケでやるわ〜と言う気になる、、、が、ハッキリ言うと間のノイズみたいなエフェクトの箇所は嫌い〜。

まるでユーロじゃない？

もしかしたらZeddが、一昔前のサウンドを入れて、古いサウンドのユーロ好き&パラパラ好き(パラパラ知ってるだろうなあー、日本人DJとも交流あるから)をこの2015年の時に取り込もうとした気がする。

だから、「EDMが1番好き」と言う人には新鮮だろうし、ダンスミュージックが好きな人は懐かしくて好みだろうけど、根っからのRock好きのLyraみたいな人間には、キツう〜いのだ。

事実、Rock好きでEDM好きは、うちらの周りにはいない、、、全面的に好きではないLyraくらいよ。

Lyraは、Rockが1番好きだけど、イギリスのPOPSも好きで育って来たからEDMだとしても、メロディが良いもの、切ない系は好き。

だから、紹介しているわけです。

今日の【I Want You To Know】はSelenaの声が魅力的だしメロディが良いから紹介しました。

歌詞も前向きで良いしね。

ワガママを言えば「もっと情熱的にしてよー」て感じ。

Anton Zaslavski (Russian: Антон Заславский; born 2 September 1989), known professionally as Zedd (/ˈzɛd/), is a Russian-German record producer, DJ, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. He primarily produces and performs electro housemusic, but has diversified his genre and musical style, drawing influences from progressive house, dubstep, and classical music.

Zedd grew up and began his career in Kaiserslautern, Germany. His stage name, Zedd, was derived from zed, the non-American English name for the letter Z, the first letter of his surname. In 2012, he released “Clarity” (featuring Foxes), which propelled him to mainstream success, reaching the 8th position on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning him a Grammy for Best Dance Recording at the 56th Grammy Awards. Later in 2012, he released his debut studio album Clarity, with hit single “Stay the Night” (featuring Hayley Williams) appearing on the 2013 deluxe edition of the album.

“I Want You to Know” is an EDM and electropop track written by Zedd, Ryan Tedder, and KDrew. Tedder and Zedd had previously worked together on Clarity album track “Lost at Sea”. Tedder called Zedd when he had an idea of a track. Zedd and Gomez first met by accident on December 4, 2014, with Zedd stating: “Our studios are right across the street from each other, and I just went to the bathroom and ran into her at the studio.”  The following day, Gomez posted a picture online with Zedd although did not confirm they were working together. Describing her featuring, he said: “We recorded her vocal and I loved it, and I never tried anyone else on it[song].” Commenting on the song, Tedder said: “Zdd crushed it.”
